I’ve been talking with a few different friends lately about why I love comics so much. It all started close to 21 years ago when I was first introduced to comics in the form of G. I. Joe #42 that I got as a Christmas present from my father, and my journey into comics has proceeded from that point till today. Most of my friends who are into comics tell me stories about how they got into comics via the superhero genre and it seems that most of the comic industry is dominated by that same genre, I have come to view myself as an anomaly in that I was brought into comics by a non-superhero book. Since then I have grown to love superheroes, but my heart is still drawn to other styles also. So right now I am going to present my Top 10 list of non-superhero books that I currently love.

This has nothing to do with comics, but I just wanted to point out my amusement in your using the Snap Preview WP plugin that you called “ugly” the other day. It’s useful, eh? :-p

I’ll be reading this often . . . maybe it’ll prod me into getting back into comics.

I agree. its always the non super power books that really draw me in.I think they usually hit new and diverse issues.Spiderman, and the x-men will always be fun to read though.

    What about manga?

I’ll be honest, I don’t really care for manga at all. I’ve tried to read it, many different series, but it just never works for me. sorry

I have the same problem with manga. It really REALLY doesn’t do it for me. Even if the stories are amazin I can’t make myself enjoy them. Which is weird, considering I have the original DVDs for the whole Trigun series, among other Anime.

I’m not much different in that I love anime a lot, Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell: SAC, Bleach, and many others… I’m really not 100% certain what it is about manga that really turns me off.
